Since 2009         Tosa Inu          土佐犬 永遠に

TNT Kennels selection is based on breeding dogs coming by best bloodline imported in Europe, directly descendants by Japanese yokozunas and World / European Winners, healthy and typical Tosa Inu, having the Japanese criteria stipulated by the FCI standard.

My study about Tosa Inu: standard, typicity, health, care, genealogical trees of the best Tosa dogs was begun in 2002, when I owned my first Tosa female. The study, the passion and the life dedicated to Tosa Inu breed made our offsprings increasingly better.

From my point of view, a Tosa Inu dog is a strong and skilful molosser, a very good guard dog for the family and for his perimeter. A Tosa Inu puppy  properly educated can become a family docile member, affectionate with the children, becoming a real Gentle Giant of the Second Group, fact that represents a contradiction with the danger degree of the dogs belonging to this group.

Personally, I think that a Tosa dog can fulfill multiple tasks, borrowing some characteristics from every and each breed standing at its origins: The Shikoku Dog, The English Bulldog, The Bullterrier, The English Mastiff, The Great Dane, Saint Bernard, The English Pointer .

During my whole experience, I’ve met a Pit Bull dog having skills for work, but also being an extraordinary friend for children.  This example strengthens my opinion that I’ve already expressed concerning the Tosa Inu breed.          Aurel Perta

BRIEF HISTORICAL SUMMARY :  Japan has a long  history of dog fighting, beginning in the 14th century.  With such a history in the background, this breed was produced as a hybrid of Shikoku-ken and Western breeds.   Named after the  area where they were  bred, these dogs are  sometimes called "Japanese Mastiffs".  The Western  dogs used  for creating  the breed were Bulldogs  (1872), Mastiffs (1874), German Pointers (1876) and Great Danes (1924), all of which were used to  improve the breed by sequential mating.  According to some  accounts, St.Bernards and  Bull Terriers were also  involved, but it  is  not  known in  what  years  they were  used.   The  Tosa's established features  of stamina  and the fighting instinct  typically found in Mastiffs may be attributed to the involvement of such breeds
